Thank you for continuing to be flexible as the Covid-19 situation and regulations change.  The safety of our church community and family is always at the front of our thinking and planning.  This has necessitated a change to our regathering process. The decision as to whether or not there will be In-Person Services this Sunday will be made based on current data and situations. As soon as a decision has been made it will be posted here and on our official Facebook page!  The Kids Church service will be posted on Facebook and YouTube at 5:00 pm on Saturday and will be available to watch at any time.  We look forward to joining with you whether it be Online or In person at 10:30 am on

AN UPDATE FROM PASTOR CARL
*Please read notice at top of page for any changes.
_______________________________________

Hello Church Family,

In Isaiah chapter 40 the Word says, “… The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.”

I’m glad I can tell you, we serve a sovereign and strong God “who works things according to the counsel of His will.” As your pastor I’m filled with hope for First Assembly!

Under the directives of health and government officials, First Assembly will follow the guidelines as laid out by our governor’s office. While we cannot guarantee a germ-free environment, we will be diligent to take steps to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Before every service the sanctuary and other facilities will be thoroughly disinfected. We ask that you observe social distancing guidelines which include maintaining a six feet separation from  individuals who are not in your household. We encourage family units to sit together to help us maintain adequate space.

Please self-screen before coming to church, for any symptoms of possible COVID-19, such as a sore throat, fever, shortness of breath, chills or other signs consistent with the virus. Also please refrain from attending if you are in a high risk group or have had close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19.

In accordance with Phase 2 recommendations we will encourage you to disinfect your hands upon entering the church. Sanitizing stations will be provided. Also, though they are not a requirement of Phase 2, you are welcome to wear cloth face coverings.

Now, this next step is a difficult one for me!  We will not shake hands, hug or high five. I know that is all we want because we have missed each other, but instead we air hug, wave and smile. Also please do not congregate in the foyer or other areas of the church.

For the time being we will not have nursery or in-person children’s church. Though the nursery will be unstaffed it will be thoroughly prepared and available should the need arise. We love our kids, they are a vital part of our church family and we welcome them into our gatherings. An activity packet will be available for each child as well as our on-line Kid’s Church video posts will continue on Facebook.

Also we will not have any in-person Wednesday night activities until further notice.

I have so appreciated the blessing and presence of the Lord that has been so evident in our online services. And I am anticipating a wonderful time in the Lord’s house as we regather.

Cindy and I look forward to seeing you. We’ve sure missed you.

And now may the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord lift His countenance upon you and give you peace. May your home be blessed, may your children be blessed, be blessed coming in and going out to the glory of God. We love you and we will see you again real soon.

SERVOLUTION AT FIRST ASSEMBLY

First Assembly is always looking for ways to connect with, support, and serve in our local community.  We call these opportunities SERVOLUTION.

PLEASANT HILLS CHILDREN’S HOME – First Assembly was able to provide a generous love offering  to the home for ongoing expenses.  Mike and Eulessya Miller, the owners of Ennis Janitorial blessed PHCH by donating and delivering a full palette of much needed paper goods and cleaning supplies!  Thank you to the Millers and to everyone who gave to make this servolution possible.

RESPIRATORY THERAPIST APPRECIATION-BAYLOR SCOTT AND WHITE, WAXAHACHIE- First Assembly was able to give each therapist a gift box and provide pizza for every shift as our way of saying thanks to all the health care workers who are on the front lines keeping us safe.  Thanks to Jordan E.’s Popcorn and Candy Company for helping us make the gift boxes extra special!

FOSTER FAMILY GAME NIGHT BAGS – In an effort to provide a much needed break from the strain of the current restrictions we were privileged to put together a fun filled Game Night Bag for the Ellis County Division of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.  Your faithful giving made this possible.  Special thanks to Heidi Dollar for organizing and facilitating this outreach!

SALVATION ARMY FOOD PANTRY – Because of the generous donations of our church family  we were able to provide much needed food items as well as a cash offering to help the Salvation Army  with their operating budget.  The Salvation army is feeding many more people due to the pandemic and is doing an incredible work in our community.

MISSIONARY BLESSING – We had a unique opportunity to bless our missionaries to Belgium, Blair and Dina Bonin.  They traveled to Waxahachie to spend time with family during the pandemic and we were able to prepare their apartment that they will live in for the next few weeks that they are here.  Thank you to the volunteers that made all of this possible.

WAXAHACHIE POLICE DEPARTMENT-We were honored to bless some of our heroes during this crisis and show appreciation for their service and sacrifice.  We committed our church to pray for them and gave them hand sanitizer that was donated by Brandon Gazaway.

OUR CORE VALUES

We unashamedly and uncompromisingly strive to be:

BIBLICALLY  BASED
God’s Word is our guide, authority, and conscience in everything we do.  Psalm 119:105

FULLY DEVOTED TO CHRIST
We measure our success by our full devotion to Christ and our ability to be and make disciples.  Luke 9:23

GROUNDED IN GRACE
We acknowledge our complete dependence on the goodness and grace of God.  We have experienced it, therefore we eagerly extend it to others.  Ephesians 2:89

PASSIONATE ABOUT WORSHIP AND PRAYER
We are called to exalt Christ as the center of every aspect of our lives.  John 4:23  We believe the attitude and action of prayer is essential to everything we do.  Colossians 4:2

COMMITTED TO PEOPLE
We believe that people matter to God, therefore they  matter to us.  Jesus came to seek and save the lost and has left us here to do the same.  Luke 19:10

FOCUSED ON MINISTRY AND SERVICE
Every believer is a minister and we believe that the Holy Spirit has imparted to each one a spiritual gift; empowering  and equipping us to minister out of our gifts and passion. 1 Peter 4:10, Colossians 3:17

A PEOPLE OF EXCELLENCE
Because God gave His very best for us we offer excellence in our service to Him.  In serving Christ, love will always be our motivation and excellence will always be our goal.  Psalms 29:2
